BIS Biological Information System
BIS stands for a
Biological Information System - a information data set on species, which can be queried to fiend biological attributes,
life beaver and geographical distribution.
As project case we take the birds
Aves. Of interest is the geographical habitat of the species, maped in relation to the earth hypography,
hydrography, landcover index (i.e. fauna), vegeation activity, temperature distribution, snow cover, urban density etc ...
With the information system we can check the extent of the habitat, we can discover new life attributes for the species or
we can compute the dynamic changes of the habitat depending on global parameters.
Here we give a simple example: We know the habitat of bird. We know that bird lives in mixed leaf forest and likes spring continental temperature. With this information we can generate for a given month a likelyhoot habitat map.
We hope the birds
Aves can be of some interest - but in the first place it will a project show case.
